Jessica is the kind of writer who gets it right on the first draft, every time. Her young boys don’t complain when she’s stingy with treats and TV; her dog, Lily, loves only kibble. Jessica gets to church every Sunday and never feels personally insulted by slow cars in the passing lane.

Jessica Best was formerly Director of Communications in the Office of the Dean at Stanford University School of Medicine. Before that, she was Senior Advisor to the Provost and Chief Academic Officer at Johns Hopkins University. Ms. Best received her BA from Yale University.

I’m a writer, leap-of-faith Christian, organized mom, and happy-for-now divorcée. Born in West Virginia and raised in Colorado, I live in Maryland with my three boys and dog. I’m a PEN America Prison Writing Mentor and a 2022 Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference Contributor.
